A Watched Pot

We love to shoot photos in pretty kitchens, which is why we very rarely shoot photos in our own. The house was built in 1983, and the original appointments are very indicative of that era. Changes are coming in 2017, however, as we will be allocating the full force of the home improvement budget to kitchen updates. (This year’s home improvement budget has been diverted to the Tenth Anniversary Fucking Awesome Vacation budget.)

Holden had two moments of inspiration for these, which you should know about. First of all, he climbed up onto the counter to shoot them, standing in a crouch to keep from hitting his head on the ceiling. The resulting perspective is really unique and cool, I think. Secondly, given the outdated kitchen, he found a very gentle retro-style filter for the images we chose to publish. Spot on, right?! ~C

As always clever. Love the pose at the stove, the tilt of the head and angle of the body standing on one foot. The hair drapes lovely. And at the sink the hair adds an aura of mystery. Always love the sexy peek. Nice use of light.

Nothing better than a Fucking Awesome Vacation! But, when you get that kitchen remodel you will be in heaven.

Thank you! The kitchen window faces west, so we got some really pretty late afternoon sunlight. 🙂 Agreed re: the kitchen remodel. We’ll see how much we can get done, considering our budget…

Oh my god, you guys – I have a major apron fetish and I am DYING right now. I normally don’t make dirty “I-wanna-bang-you” comments on people’s blogs, but what I wouldn’t give to put my face under that red apron right now…

Big kisses, Jo! I will take credit for grabbing the apron (as usual, Holden originally had me fully nude for these). Fun fact: The apron is embroidered with my name on the front, so I turned it around backward for the shots. 😉 LOVE and adore this comment! Thank you very much! ~C

I’ve always dreamt of coming into my kitchen to find this 😉 My kitchen is early 21st C, but kitchens date quickly and beauty never x

I’m not terribly skilled with bangers and mash, but I could give it a try! 😉 Here’s hoping for an upgrade that won’t immediately seem outdated. ~C

Holden did a great job getting the angle and sense of the kitchen chore done in a delightful way. The new kitchen will be nice to have. 10 year anniversary vacation? That will be fun.

Yes! We are so excited about the vacation! And you can be sure that we’re taking the camera… 😉
