As some of you know, my father passed away after a long illness in January. My ex-husband, the father of my sons, died very suddenly last December. Needless to say, this has been a difficult Father’s Day for us. But I am grateful for Holden and his father for providing such unwavering stability and guidance in these tough times. In contemporary society, I believe that the roles of step-fathers and fathers-in-law should be celebrated and encouraged, because biology never trumps commitment and love. I didn’t have the chance to hug my father today, and I missed him terribly, but I appreciated having the next best thing. I hope all of you dads had a wonderful day, and that you felt the love from your children. Peace and joy to you all. ~C

Real fathers are fathers, never mind the steps. A nice thought, Camille.
I did have a nice day, and felt the love from both of my loves.
Thank you very much, Elliott! I’m glad you had a good day! ~C

Thanks so much! ~C
A lovely sentiment to go with a gorgeous photo. My children are away but both rang me–my daughter from LA–so I had a lovely day 🙂 x
Oh, good! I’m so glad you heard from your children! I’m even more diligent about making sure people make those connections now. I would have loved to hear my father’s voice, even if he was grumpy. 🙂 ~C
Sending big hugs to both of you…and maybe a slight pinch on the booty too😉
We will happily accept (and reciprocate) both, Kerri! Thank you very much! It was a tough weekend, but we both tried to focus on the joys instead of the sorrows… ~C
