In anticipation of hosting a big family Christmas dinner at our house, Holden and I finally got our butts in gear in early December and did some painting. The formal dining room was our primary target, as we had long grown tired of the faded pale yellow that the previous owners had chosen, years ago. We went bold, and selected a deep brick red for above the chair rail, and a soft cream color for below it. I used to care very little about the alignment of the old artwork that we had hanging in there, but now I’m pretty obsessive about keeping the new paintings straight! I can’t say the same for the lampshade, however. ~C

Ok, so this isn’t going to appear in the next “House and Garden”, but it should! Nice ass by the way 😉 x
Sadly, no, I won’t be expecting a magazine feature for this one…But we are really excited about how the room looks! 🙂 ~C
I don’t know if you got your butt in high gear, but it definitely has my gears turning😍
lol, thank you! It’s probably cheating to have stockings on for a bare-bottom shot, but I’m pushing 50 and so I’ll take all the help I can get! 😉 ~C
lovely backside and nice paint color choice
Thanks very much! 🙂 ~C
Nice color choices and a beautiful bottom.
The trick to keep the lampshade level on most of those style old lamps is to loosen the nut at the top. At some time in the past the lamp has fallen over and bent the harp. You can try to rebend the harp(and risk breaking it) or loosen the nut that holds the lampshade in place allowing gravity to let it rest level.
Thank you, Michael! Yes, it’s definitely an older lamp, and had been mashed into the corner of a storage room for a while. Since the new paint color is significantly darker than the previous one, we discovered that we needed a bit more light. We’ll definitely take your advice on the shade, and it’ll be straight the next time you see it! 🙂 ~C
