Hello, everyone! Room by room evaluations ahead of next year’s move have us making some difficult decisions about which things we’re willing to pack and take to Texas with us. This china cabinet, for instance, with sheets of glass both inside and out, is an absolute bitch to wrap up safely. Fortunately, it’s a family antique, so Holden’s sister has agreed to take it, along with the set of their grandmother’s china that we have stored in a different piece of bulky furniture (that will be traveling with us.)
Anyway, I say all that to explain why the cabinet was on our mind ahead of the August 18 shoot, along with the realization that it has lurked in the background of a few photos over the years but has never really been featured. Holden, bless his heart, didn’t have a clear idea — the shot list literally read “something with the china cabinet” — so it was left up to me to improvise. I’m pleased to say that he was happy with a couple of my poses. 🙂 ~C
