Since last June, when we made the decision to move to Texas, about 99% of our focus has been oriented to the future — the lives we envision for ourselves and the plans to get us there. This has recently changed a bit, however, with every dusty box we take down from the attic, every forgotten keepsake we pull from the dark corner of a closet, and every hat or t-shirt our boys left behind when they moved away. Hey, remember this?! Sixteen years is a long time to live in a house, and more than enough time to pack it full of memories (and other assorted nonsense). So Holden, during his perusal of the archive photos, suggested we turn back the clock a full decade and restrict our outtake search to the prolific year of 2015.
The particular pose in the image above has never been published before, though we did post two or three others from that setting. It was Fourth of July weekend 2015 — the weekend after taking Holden’s son to the theatre to see the brand new Jurassic World movie and about a month before my 46th birthday — and we’d taken a friend up on her offer to shoot in her stylish home. Her father had an impressive collection of vintage photography equipment, which we happily gathered for props. I was still coloring my hair back then, and apparently we’d spent a bit of time at the lake house, from the look of my tan lines! This should be a fun retrospective, and we hope y’all will enjoy playing along with us! ~C
It’s fun to reminisce
Yes it is! But as the old meme says, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”

Thank you, darling! It’s always a joy to look backward, but I know Holden is itching to create some brand new shots…
