Tiny Bubbles

The master bath at the new house is laid out very similarly to the one at our old favorite Texas Airbnb, where we stayed on several previous visits. It’s not quite as large, but it’s well lit, with dual sinks and a deep (albeit narrow) walk-in closet. And it has a separate stall shower and comfy soaking tub, which some of you may recall that I used early and often at the rental place. Holden enjoys teasing me about how cold-natured I am — He’s promised to buy me a big flat rock for the backyard this fall, so that I can warm myself on it like a lizard — so he’s been shocked at how I’ve used the tub since the move. I’ve only climbed in a few times so far, and each was to take a nice cooling bath after working in the yard. (The yard is small and the neighbors are close, but somehow this neighborhood is much more quiet than our old one.)

Speaking of the old house, we’ve been rather disappointed with how little activity the listing has been getting. It’s averaging about one showing per day, and the only two offers we’ve received were laughably low all-cash bids from investors. But we have plenty to keep us occupied here, so we aren’t exactly dwelling on it (pun intended.) The listing doesn’t expire until the end of August, and it only takes one call or email to set a sale in motion. Optimism and a sunny disposition come far easier when you’re settled and relaxed, don’t they? Next week, we’ll take a peek at the home office. ~C
