These photos are an homage to the best photo ever created by a Tumblr couple we were acquainted with back in the day. Not surprisingly, of course, their photo was stolen from them repeatedly — cropped at first to remove their watermark and then re-cropped multiple more times for reasons known only to the thieves. The most recent unauthorized edit we saw replaced their original soft-color filter with a fuzzy and unflattering black-and-white, which was all the trigger we needed to include this tribute to their work within our series of contrasting edits. (Two more to go after this one, by the way.)
I’m writing this caption on Thursday evening and scheduling it to post at our usual Saturday publication time because, at the very moment this sucker goes public, I’ll be landing once again at our little hometown airport (and possibly dodging thunderstorms). It’s been a great trip so far, with more events on my schedule tomorrow, but I’m already looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again, with my favorite fella at my side.
