As it turns out, this is the second image from the same photo series by the extraordinary photographer Alisa Verner that we have used as inspiration for one of our own. (The first was one of our Seattle shots.) The original is stunning, and the model is captivating, though we studied it for a long time attempting to read some sort of context into the pose. “Is she reaching for something?” I wondered, “And how on earth did she get her shirt to hang like that?” I think Holden’s addition of a glass of ice water was genius, especially given the lighting. ~C
