Perhaps the most significant event from December 2016, for us as a couple, was my youngest son leaving home for a place of his own. It had been a long time coming, and his continued reluctance to spread his wings had become the source of a considerable amount of friction between Holden and me. Having this particular photo in the queue for tonight presented the best opportunity to bring up the subject, as my son’s former bathroom is the only one in our house that has a bathtub. Since cleanliness was not a major emphasis for him (see the aforementioned reference to friction), I rarely ventured in there for a soothing soak. As rewarding as quiet time in the bath can be, it wasn’t worth the trouble for me to go in and scrub it ahead of time. But now the guest bath is clean, and I suspect you will see this tub in photos more often in the future. Ahhhhh… ~C

Love it! I hope you enjoy your newfound freedom. I, too, had a houseguest living with us for about 6 mos and it was definitely time when she left.
Thank you, Sierra! He’s a great kid and a sensitive young man, but it was definitely time for him to be on his own. We are still adjusting to our new circumstances. 😉 ~C
Awesome picture! Krystal and I are cleanliness freaks too and, like you, we recently had a long-term guest depart, who also didn’t subscribe to hygiene of *any* kind! After a couple days of DEEP cleaning, we also regained the use of a spare bathroom and bedroom, one that we previously zipped into for frequent afternoon delights! We are empty nesters once again…and loving the (sexual) freedom that comes with it! 😍
So happy to hear that you have new options available for yourselves, as well! Our new freedom certainly will make the planning and execution of photo shoots easier. No reason to check someone else’s schedule ahead of time… 😉 ~C
Most children learn really good hygiene only when they have to live on their own 😉 Lovely photo x
I hope he will have a lightbulb moment before long. “Why is this place messy as hell? Oh, yeah…” 😉
Awesome picture…it says so much!
When our guest left was a happy day for me… I think I raced to that bathroom with a bucket of bleach solution from ceiling to floor as fast as I could. Can you say MRS. Clean?!
I’m just glad he left some time between his departure and the arrival of the houseguests we had here for Christmas! It took a lot of work, but now I get to reap the benefits. 😉 ~C
