The stair landing where these photos were taken is in the fall-zone of two large oaks and a dogwood tree, and so it is typically covered in leaves at this time of year. Holden had this in mind as we were creating a shot list on the Thursday night before our Saturday, October 6 photo session. When we got home from work on that Friday, however, we discovered that the lawn maintenance crew had made their bi-weekly visit to the house, and had used their high-powered blowers to rid the driveway, decks, stairs, and landings of every single leaf. I’ll have y’all know that while I was putting on my socks and his hoodie for this shot, Holden was outside gathering leaves so that he could put some back on the landing. My man is true to his vision! ~C

I love the image of Holden gathering leaves: it reminds me of one of my earliest sorties in the TV world, as a 3rd AD, gathering leaves and then climbing a ladder and dropping them into shot for an Autumn shot 😉 I love these! There is a slightly sinister, Hallowe’en feel to them 😉 x
