Up and Out 1

Check it out, guys! We found another angle / location combination at our house that we haven’t already used for photography a dozen times! This is timely, as last Saturday the 20th marked the sixth anniversary of holden-and-camille.com — Just over 2,000 posts, with God only knows how many hundreds of published photos from inside or outside our own home.

A quick note about the logistics, so you won’t think that Holden found some glowing box to stick me in for these: I’m on our screened back porch, which is elevated above the driveway and garage level, and we’re using only the party lights for illumination on a dark night (see this post for a better look at them.) He is shooting from the driveway, so we will all forgive him that the distance from subject and low light caused these to be a little blurry. Anyway, we thought these looked really cool and we hope y’all enjoy them, too! ~C

  1. Really, really cool. Particularly like the warm glow of the color image.

    1. Thank you so much! We also took some using the overhead ceiling fan light on the porch — We’ll select a couple of those and post them soon. 🙂 ~C

  2. Oh I love these photos! The sepia has a feeling of Edward Hopper, and the B&W makes me think of Gloria Grahame in some Film Noir. Gorgeous 🙂 x

    1. Those are such flattering comparisons, thank you! The sepia feel was completely accidental — We didn’t know how those white lights would look against the green ceiling, to our camera. 🙂 ~C
