Sitting down with Holden over last weekend, debating on which of the three or four options of this image was our favorite, reminded me of a game-changing discovery we made several years ago in relation to our little hobby. We went into this endeavor with no training or background in modeling or photography, and working out things like lighting, wardrobe, camera settings and all the other elements were based on lessons we learned along the way. A couple we met on Tumblr who is new to their own self-shooting adventure recently wrote to ask our advice. My first words in reply were “Embrace the 45-degree angle.” It’s natural to want to shoot everything either straight-on, or straight perpendicular. But when I first noticed how flattering a slight change in the angle could be for my solo shots, I was hooked. Just a slight turn of the hips or shoulders can make all the difference. (Though looking at things from the other two perspectives can be magical, too, like with these and these…) ~C

You’re gorgeous regardless of the angle! This picture reminds me I need to get more fishnets. Mine got a little ripped ๐
Thank you, darling! And that’s a big Yes to getting more fishnets! I’ve been protecting mine from rips by taking them off before Holden completely loses control of himself… ๐ ~C
Holden is a stronger man than me, cause with those fishnets and the firm look of that derriere of yours…let’s just say a completely different image would’ve been captured ๐
๐ I’m sure we will have photos like the one you describe, and soon, if I keep wearing these! ~C
You are quite right about angles, and this particular angle suits such a beautiful netted ass ๐ x
Thank you! We knew you’d understand. ๐
Still one of our favorites ever
Thank you! I was a little iffy about posting this one, but I’m glad we did! ๐ ~C
