I may have mentioned it earlier, but we had accumulated quite a collection of games and puzzles and children’s toys in the basement of the old house, and we spent a long time going through them before we moved. We kept the classics — Scrabble, Battleship, Sorry, etc — and either donated or discarded the rest. It’s been amusing for us to watch the little grandsons respond to the decidedly low-tech/no-tech activities, including these marbles from an old Chinese checkers set.
This is actually an update on an old idea, as we’d used a strand of plastic pearls as a makeshift bikini bottom before. No Christmas tree this time, of course, though Holden did have the idea to employ a bright desk lamp to try to bring out the sparkle and color from the marbles. It’s more obvious in the wider crop than the close-up, but the natural light and overhead fixture wouldn’t quite have had the same effect. ~C
Very nice !
