The Curse

In previous posts, we have mentioned the phenomenon that we have named the “amateur pornographers’ curse.” We have been taking photos for over four years now, and the vast majority have been taken in our own home. Whenever we have the chance to shoot anywhere else — especially in unfamiliar hotel rooms — we find ourselves scanning the surroundings for photo settings before our suitcases hit the floor. Fortunately, the curse has yet to rob us of our ability to settle in and enjoy our rare time away together. So, for now, it remains an interesting oddity.

That said, check out this awesome gold porthole mirror! It was hung at an ideal level for self portraits on the bed, and made us wonder how many other people have also taken advantage of the opportunity. And speaking of hung…We have been taking both R- and PG-rated versions of our photos, when possible, to have something to post to Instagram. We almost posted what we thought was a PG-rated take on the bottom photo, until we noticed that Holden couldn’t seem to keep certain body parts out of the shot. ~C

Oh what gorgeous photos! Camille, you look outrageously beautiful and no wonder Holden couldn’t keep his “excitement” to himself 😉

And I know what you mean: my Director’s eye never leaves me, so much so that I can be having a conversation while thinking how I would shoot the reverse of it 😉 x
