Because we were running our top ten countdown, we had to hold off on posting highlights from this awesome WordPress summary report until afterward — The “Crunchy Numbers” panel down below would have spoiled too many surprises!
Demographically, we had a bit of a shift at the top compared to last year’s visitors. Germany dropped from second place to fourth, behind both Canada and the U.K. Also, France, Australia and Norway made very impressive showings this year. Hope y’all stick around for more adventures!
We joked last year that fridayam should be on the payroll, considering the frequency with which he replies, always adding to the often lively nature of our comments section. For 2015, he more than doubled his production! This kind of efficiency is unheard of, right? Strong numbers again this year from Britt and Kerri, and we welcome Clara and Dave into the top five!
And then, the bad news. Site visits were down overall, from 180,000 in 2014 to 160,000 this year. It would be unseemly to complain, however — Our little hobby caused people to click onto this site 160,000 times last year?! Yikes!
To all of you, thanks so very much for playing along with us! We have new ideas to explore in 2016, and more locations to visit and photograph! We’ll be back later this evening with the first post of the photos we shot on New Year’s Day. 🙂
As someone who followed you from the very beginning on your original site- (I was under a different name) I am impressed with your ongoing creativity and energy in producing more awesome content! Bravo!
Oh, wow! You followed us way back in the Tumblr days? We didn’t know that 🙂 We thought you found us through our Instagram. In any event, THANK YOU so much for your kind thoughts!
Deb is right. Your blog is a daily delight and (as you know) an inspiration. If the number of my comments approaches the stalker-ish, it is because it is my belief that too many awesome blogs disappear because their creators get disheartened by people looking but not taking the few moments to express their thanks or even their dislike. And your blog attracts also some wonderful contributions from others, and it is downright rude not to say thank you for their courage and beauty. I look forward to many more delights in the coming years 🙂 x
Oh, not stalker-ish at all! We appreciate every single comment from you, and we do wish that more of our readers would take the time to do so! We have dozens who have never posted a single word to us, which is far more strange and troubling. (Who even are they? Why can’t they say hello?) And we agree — It is easy to become discouraged by a lack of feedback, and we have seen people give up, as well. Thank you! 🙂
No, thank you 🙂 Many has been the night in a lonely hotel on location when your posts have been a blessing and the stats of a poor poet-blogger have been empty for weeks 😉 x
🙂
Thank you for sharing this information. I stumbled on this page because someone else I was following featured you in her own blog… a very happy connection! And I have decided I will be speaking up more, giving feedback, here and elsewhere. 🙂
I also intend to contribute some more pictures! 😉
We certainly look forward to hearing more from you! And seeing more, too, of course. 😉
Number 4 only? Well, I can do better than that. ;0) I’ll up my stalking skills. (Or, you know, plan better for the last 3 months of the year and actually get in some comments!)
I love y’all’s page and I’m always amazed by the new pictures and how you can keep it fresh and different. I haven’t had a chance to get all my comments in, but I have seen some amazing pics coming through my email. I’m hoping very soon I’ll be back to show my love for all y’all do!
Spots two through five are up for grabs in 2016, judging by how close these numbers were last year! 😉 We do hope to hear from you more often, and we appreciate your lovely thoughts! Sometimes we fear that we aren’t exactly keeping it fresh, but please know that we do try! 🙂
