Longtime readers know how difficult Thanksgiving has been for us, over the past few years. Holden always works on the Saturday after, and sometimes on Sunday, too, and so he hasn’t been able to join me at my parents’ house for the holiday weekend. This year, however, I stayed in town and accompanied Holden to his family’s celebration, instead. When we first started dating, twelve years ago, his family was so welcoming to me and my sons, and I am very grateful for that. Today, I got to be Fun Aunt Camille for all the little nieces and nephews, and we all had a wonderful time! This evening, though, I’m exhausted and so I’m putting on something frilly and feminine and curling up on the sofa with a cheesy holiday movie… ~C

I think they were delighted to have you with them this year, and Holden was proud.
