Holden and I are jonesing hard for a road trip, y’all. It has been months since we made a long weekend excursion, if you exclude the quick up-and-back to Lexington in August. And we do exclude that one, since it wasn’t exactly a pleasure trip, and we weren’t alone. We need to plan at least one lake house visit, and soon, since autumn is a great time to be down there — warm enough to kayak during the day, and not yet freezing cold at night. We are in the early stages of planning our annual pre-Thanksgiving getaway, but we haven’t decided between mountains or coast or something else entirely. (If you’re a new follower, Holden’s job becomes a nightmare starting with Black Friday, and he’s in the office six days a week all the way to the first week of January.) We’ll come up with something. ~C
