The Lexington apartment had several unique candles and candle-holders, including this one that Holden was really excited about including in a shot. What the place didn’t have, however, was matches or lighters. We know, because we looked in every cabinet and every drawer in the joint. We quit smoking years ago, so I have long since stopped carrying a lighter in my purse. Not to be defeated, Holden rolled up a piece of paper towel and put it on the stove. He turned an eye up to high, and blew on the paper towel until it caught fire. We managed to get one of the tea candles lit, and used it to light the other two, and we didn’t even set off the smoke detector. That would have been tough to explain to the other residents, wouldn’t it?
Hope y’all had a lovely weekend! Ours was mostly lazy, but we did shoot some new photos yesterday that we are enthusiastic about posting, after the final Lexington shot is published on Wednesday. ~C
Very creative, nice photo!
Thank you! ~C
Shadows and darkness always ad such wonderful mystery to photos, and I’d say your image made perfect use of both. Awesome pic!!
Very kind of you, Krystal! We shot more of this setting than any other one in Lexington — You never quite know what you’re going to get until you download the images from the camera, when it’s this dark. 🙂 ~C
Well, the effort paid off! Way improvise!
Thanks! Just happy we didn’t start a fire! 😉 ~C
Oooh, every dark, Gothic movie I could think of flashed across my mind when I saw this! So gorgeous, and eerie 🙂 x
We may very well have been looking forward to Halloween when we made this one. 😉 The temperatures were substantially cooler, several hours north in Kentucky, and autumn was already in the air! ~C
Better to light a candle in the night than to curse the darkness, especially when the candle highlights such a beautiful lady.
How very poetic, Kerri! Thank you very much! 🙂 ~C
I saw it in a Peanuts cartoon strip when o was young 😁
lol…Isn’t is awesome how Charles Schulz is still reminding us of these lessons? 🙂
A great sexy photo! Love the lighting.
