Checks Mate

I’m spoiling the surprise by typing this out, but I’m definitely going back to the place where I bought these checkered pj bottoms for Holden and buying him three or four more. He LIVED in them during the cooler months, and I could see the disappointment on his face when he had to take them off to launder them and wear plain old sweatpants instead. So, I knew how wildly comfortable they were, even before climbing up and straddling his thighs…

As we expected, the return to work on Tuesday was hectic and depressing, after ten days off, but at least it was only a four-day week, right? Or at least that’s what we kept repeating to ourselves as we dug out of the backlog of mundane tasks that weren’t covered while we were away. That’s the problem with “accidentally becoming an important person where I work,” as the meme goes: When you’re the only person who does a thing, no one thinks to handle it when you’re not there.

We have a couple more ideas to publish from the April 26 session that produced these shots, but we’re so excited about the vacation pictures that we’re gonna bump them up in the posting order. See you next weekend from the coast! ~C
